Claudiu Urse is a theatre music composer and actor. His music is defined by his acting experience. He experiments with modern sounds, textures and loops, creating original soundscapes and atmospheres. In the creative process, he relies on the energy, actions and text of the actors involved in the performance.

Claudiu Urse was born in 1990 in Braila. He studied performing arts since childhood: choreography, classic guitar and drama. Later, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Acting at the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu. He did his first theatre roles as a teenager, being cast for productions directed by famous romanian directors such as Victor Ioan Frunza and Radu Afrim.

During his university studies, he became interested in theatre music composition and sound design. He starts to compose the music for the university’s theatre shows, making his official debut through “Families” (2016), directed by Eugen Jebeleanu. Since then, Claudiu continues to compose for renowned romanian and international directors: Botond Nagy, Alexandra Badea, Radu Alexandru Nica, Yann Verburgh, Nicoleta Lefter and Josef Maria Krasanovsky. More, Claudiu was member of the alternativ-rock band Domino and DJ for events, like the International Theatre Festival of Sibiu, the Transilvania International Film Festival and Astra Film Festival.

However, in his artistic work, Claudiu tries to use his acting experience when composing. Because of his, he never stopped acting, continuing to perform on the stages of Radu Stanca National Theatre of Sibiu, Gong Theatre of Sibiu and REACTOR of Cluj-Napoca.
