Liberty Orchestra returned for a tour in 2022

The Liberty Orchestra 2022, created by Swinging Europe in Denmark as part of the Liberty EU programme, has hosted a whistle-stop tour of Jazz musicians from across Europe in a short but sweet residency project.

Liberty Orchestra Tour 2022 – 22 to 31 August 2022:

In August 2022, a 10-day tour consisting of 8 selected multicultural musicians from the partner countries was carried out in a number two band installation, which offered new music, new faces and new network connections across European borders: The theme of the tour is “inside-out concerts” – i.e. concerts, which take place in unconventional places to play live music.

The orchestra played, among other things, at Højskolen Skærgården, the mobile jazz container that Aarhus Jazz Festival stands for – KISSA; Blå Kors in Arden, and El Mundo in Aalborg, in addition to the Kulturmødet at Mors. The Liberty Orchestra consists of 8 multicultural musicians who are both local, but also from other European countries. All the musicians are under 30 years old and the music is newly composed by the band leader and composer Kenneth Dahl Knudsen, who was also the band leader for last year’s Swinging Europe Nordic talent development project Young Nordic Stars.
