Waterfields – immersive installation – PREMIER, Trafo Hungary 2021

Waterfields offers a dual experience of immersion and contemplation. Participants, like shipwrecked people at sea or lost hikers in high mountains, are immersed in a medium that is constantly changing and overwhelming their senses.

Whether the atmosphere around us feels unpredictable or safe, suffocating or liberating, depends not only on the laws of a system larger than us, but also on our ability to change our perspective. Participants can take both an internal perspective focusing on the details, and an external perspective looking at the system as a whole. They also have the opportunity to influence the conditions of the terrain.

The artists’ previous work, Infinite Dune, won the Best Exhibition of Countries and Regions section at the 2019 Prague Quadrennial.
