Urška Medved is a contemporary dancer and performer. She started her dance path at very young age in cultural association Qulenium. In her lifetime she made plenty group and solo performances that were performing in Slovenia and abroad. She received several awards on national and international level. Her biggest award is from year 2018, when she won Olga Birkfelts konstpris for young artist in Sweden for her textile installation and performance Home Sweet Home. In last year she created performance Flying horizons which travelled from Cankarjev Centre Ljubljana to festival Kalejdoskop, Factory Rog and in last month in India, where was part of Ryan International Children Festival 2019. In last years she started passing knowledge on young generations. In year 2017 she got invited to be a part of cultural internship at Ryan International School in India. She spent two months there and choreographed 6 performances for big stages. Currently she is finishing her bachelor degree in Textile design in which she is exploring textile installations and objects in connection with body and its movement.
