mandla rae is a writer and performance artist born in Zimbabwe, raised in London and currently based in Manchester. Their work explores power dynamics, trauma and heritage. They are currently intrigued by the after-effects of colonialism on their first language. mandla is also developing their first solo show ‘as british as a watermelon’.
