We are the creators of Light Up Leicester ‘Unexpected Connection’, accredited by BBC News we shared our installation with the general public in 2020 just before Covid hit.
Unexpected connection is an interactive LED tunnel, using pressure sensors, programmable LED lighting and smartglass to unexpectedly bring people together. With two opposite entrances the public will be lured towards the center, down a vibrant colour changing LED tunnel. With each footstep the tunnel will change the colour, speed and pattern of the LEDs overhead. At the center the users will reach an opaque glass screen but with one step onto the final pressure sensor the glass will become clear revealing their new connection opposite. The glass will stay opaque until two users unknowingly stand on the final sensor at the same time, without this cooperation they will never know what lies on the other side of the glass.
