With an experimental approach to work with textiles and findings, Anne is constantly looking for new combinations of materials and processing methods. Fascinated by the capabilities of natural fibres and secondhand clothes, her endeavour is to transfer these regrowing resources into a contemporary aesthetic. She thereby finds a special interest in linen – a material with a long history and not yet exhausted potential for clothing – and realized a pure linen collection called matter(s) in 2019.
Regarding second hand materials, Anne focuses on shirts in their different variations. Business or casual, slim, regular or loose fit, flannel, silk or linen: shirts have successfully proven themselves for decades, offer a variety of wearing options and reliably give their wearer the safe feeling of a familiar and neat look. In her ongoing project Out Of Office the textile artist turns discarded clothes into unique pieces.
For a sustainable approach to a matter that surrounds people day-to-day, Anne is involved in collective and participatory textile upcycling projects with local institutions and partners. She is experienced in workshops with children and young people, teaching assignments at the university and an active member of the multidisciplinary Kollektiv Kubik.
